In order to sell non-ferrous metals, such as copper, aluminum, etc., South Carolina law states that you will need a non-ferrous permit from your local sheriff's department. Bring it once and we will keep a copy on file for you so you don't have to bring it again! 

Visit your local sheriff's department or go to their website. Fill out their questionnaire and they will issue your permit. Most are good for 2 years from the date issued. 

You do not need a non-ferrous permit to scrap your junk car. 

**If your car is less than twelve years old, you will need the title. If older than 12 years old, SC law states that you can scrap it with an affidavit stating you are the lawful owner and legally scrapping your car. Need it towed? Call us and we can help you with that!
